My name is Matt and I first came to Life Quest in September of 2009. I had such a bad track record in every aspect of my life that no place would take me. No place other than Life Quest, that is. Nancy decided to give me an undeserved chance at developing the necessary skills for a successful life. I left that December to Champion Homes in Hastings, Nebraska. It just wasn't for me and I felt like I didn't have the resources I needed. In addition, my doctor had me on medications that were literally killing me. I lost 40 pounds in four months due to being on medications for Attention Deficit Disorder. Concerned Life Quest staff called me and asked if I wanted to come home to Life Quest for even a second chance. I asked them to give me the weekend to think about it. Instead it was two hours, ha ha. Life Quest feels mostly like home for me out of all the places I have been to in Nebraska. The staff are genuinely caring and are not out for the "almighty dollar." The Administrator/Owner is often referred to as "Mom" due to her caring and nurturing nature. There are plenty of things to keep me busy, plenty of recreationaal activities, and plenty of skills groups to help us develop the skills we need to live in possibly on our own. I am glad that I have come to Life Quest and that I have been given another chance at life as opposed to literal death. I am not stretching the truth when I say that Life Quest has surely saved my life. Thank you Life Quest! |
